The Face Clinic Edinburgh’s doctors are authorised prescribers of Obagi® Skin Systems.
Obagi Medical provides transformational skin care products formulated to minimize signs of skin aging, address dark spots, hyperpigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles, and to protect and enhance skin tone and texture. Often incorporating high strength retinoids, these systems are very effective at producing an even and smooth skin tone. The system of products provided by Obagi are specifically designed to both enhance the delivery of the prescription strength retinoid products and also protect and enhance their results for a longer period.
The Obagi skincare line was created by Dr. Zein Obagi, a renowned dermatologist who was one of the first to use a combination of prescription-strength ingredients with non-prescription ingredients in his skincare products. The Obagi system of skincare is based on the belief that the skin needs to be stimulated to repair itself and that this can be achieved through the use of a combination of prescription strength and non-prescription products.
Some of the most popular Obagi skincare products include the Obagi Nu-Derm System, which is designed to improve the texture and tone of the skin by reducing hyperpigmentation, the Obagi-C Rx System, which is formulated with vitamin C to brighten and firm the skin, and the Obagi Retinol 1.0, which is a potent retinol cream that is designed to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
What happens at my skin consultation appointment?
Before being prescribed some Obagi products, you must have a consultation with a doctor. Your doctor will assess your skin and medical history to ascertain if these skin treatments are appropriate for you. For some patients, a ‘skin patch test’ is required to check that the treatment is safe for your skin.
